The Role

The role:

As a Payroll Senior Associate, you will have a sole responsibility for own portfolio of clients, providing them with a high quality and reliable personal service, and processing the payroll from start to finish. You will be responsible for completion of payroll review work and become involved in technical tasks. In addition to the traditional payroll responsibilities, you will get involved in business development projects and other initiatives within the payroll team.

What you will do:

Supporting the Payroll Managers ensuring that high standards of payroll compliance, operating procedures, quality, and client-service are maintained. The role includes:

  • Preparation of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a varied portfolio of clients covering all aspects of payroll from start to finish including Pension Auto-enrolment responsibilities.
  • Completion of payroll reviews before submission to clients, as well as payroll reviews for junior members of staff.
  • Developing and maintaining client contact and relationships.
  • Assisting with business development projects and opportunities including networking events.
  • Ensuring the payroll procedures manual and client reports are maintained.
  • Working alongside the Payroll Managers on team training and development needs.
  • Ensuring full compliance and reporting for SPPA clients.
  • Due diligence and audit testing requirements.
  • Health check reviews for external clients.
  • Completion of client journals.
  • Ensuring auto enrolment declarations are filed on time and communications are dealt with timely to clients for reenrolment.
  • Ensuring payment submissions are made to HMRC for all clients.
  • Liaising and communication with Managers, Partners and other departments within the firm.
  • Quarterly pension reviews.
  • Managing the creation and publication of marketing and social media articles.
  • Ad hoc assignments.

We have offices  in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. We work fully dynamically, meaning that our team are trusted to work where suits the situation best. There’s no mandatory time in the office, but you will need to come in regularly for meetings and events.
