Our tax department is one of the largest outside the big four in Scotland, with a broad range of clients and an unwavering focus on helping our clients and people succeed. We are looking for an accountable and motivated VAT Manager to join our team.

The role offers a clear path for growth and development, with the opportunity to contribute and work on a variety of complex and challenging technical assignments working collaboratively as part of a wider team of experts across the firm.

The Role

What you will do:

The main duties of the role as VAT Manager include:

Leading the delivery of complex, high-quality VAT advisory projects, including land and property, international transactions, partial exemption, and diligence work.
Providing technical guidance on VAT compliance, planning, and structuring.
Assisting with the delivery of complex VAT compliance services to clients including review of department compliance work undertaken by the team.
Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities to assist with driving business growth and client development.
Day to day management of client relationships and providing ad hoc advice through proactive communication and exceptional service.
Delivery of VAT advisory assignments as a member of our multi-disciplinary advisory groups.
Proactive identification of opportunities to deliver additional value to clients.
Coaching and developing junior members of the team on compliance and advisory matters.
As part of the tax management team, collectively lead compliance operations and process improvement to enhance efficiency.
Play a key role in driving, creating and maintaining a positive team culture.

relevant management and coaching experience to deliver exceptional results to clients.

Whilst a relevant qualification is desirable, this may be ATT, CTA, or CA, it is not essential if you have relevant experience.

We have offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. We work fully dynamically, meaning that our team are trusted to work where suits the situation best. There’s no mandatory time in the office, but you will need to come in regularly for meetings and events.
